Comprehensive School Reform
Demonstration (CSRD) |
|
|
The Comprehensive School
Reform Demonstration (CSRD) program provides funding
to states and schools in order to help them adopt successful
comprehensive school reform models. States are eligible
to receive funds based on their Title I formula to conduct
a competition among local schools or districts. States
may award a minimum of $50,000 per school as an incentive
to implement a research-based, comprehensive school reform
model. In applying for funds, schools may choose from
among 17 models identified in the legislation or adopt
another comprehensive school reform model. Applicants
may also propose their own home-grown or another CSRD
model. Regardless of the model chosen, applicants must
demonstrate that the school reform program integrates
all nine of the components outlined in the Comprehensive
School Reform Demonstration (CSRD) program Guidance.
SEDL's work supports the CSRD program across the nation
and in SEDL's five-state service region - Arkansas, Louisiana,
New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. |

Eastman School of Music William Warfield Partnership |
|
|
Though the Eastman School of Music and the Rochester City School District have always had important links to each other, a more formal partnership was begun in 1996 as a component of the Eastman Initiatives. In 2000, this partnership was named for William Warfield, the world-renowned bass-baritone, who is a graduate of both the Rochester City School District and the Eastman School of Music. The intent of the Warfield Partnership is to provide expanded musical education and opportunity for city youth and to work together to provide a model urban music education program.
