Since November, 2020 AEMS has held an annual symposium on anti-racism and abolitionist teaching in arts education. With a nationally-prominent keynote speaker and specialist facilitators drawn from the local arts education ecosystem, this event provides arts educators with the opportunity to learn and to hold space for brave conversations around anti-racism in arts education, both on a structural level as well as on the classroom level. Learn more about past Symposiums below.

This program seeks to mobilize power to communities, equipping arts educators to take an active part in our political process.
